Frequently Asked Questions
I WOULD LIKE TO CHECK THE STATUS OF MY ORDER, IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Tracking is not provided as standard on our parcels, however can be provided when requested in advance.
Once you’ve placed your order, we aim to dispatch it as soon as possible. Once dispatched you will not receive email confirmation, however the estimated delivery times below will apply:
Estimated 3-5 working days from dispatch.
Estimated 10-14 working days from dispatch.*
Rest of the world
Estimated 14-21 working days from dispatch.
*Please note we have occasionally been seeing some slight delays in delivery times due to Brexit and Covid-19. We thank you for your patience during this time and we are doing everything we can to avoid delay.
If your order has not arrived during the estimated timings above please check with neighbours and your local postage provider who may have your parcel. If your parcel is not with your neighbour or postage provider please get in touch.
WILL BREXIT IMPACT MY ORDER?
Please note that from 1 January 2021 individual customer orders for print books from EU member countries with a total combined value that exceeds €21.99, placed either via the Human Kinetics website or directly, may be subject to an additional import tax payment upon receipt of the order by the customer.
This payment amount will be determined by the level of VAT in the customer’s country of residence and is payable by the customer. All other customers based in Non-EU countries placing print book orders via the Human Kinetics website or directly may continue to be charged their local level of import sales tax. Mare Nostrum and Human Kinetics will not be liable for these payments.
HOW DO I ACCESS THE WEB RESOURCES ASSOCIATED WITH MY BOOK?
If your book comes with online resources such as videos, you will be able to access these by using a key code. Your book will contain a key code and instructions on how to redeem the key code online. The key code can usually be found just before or after the contents page.
If you are having difficulty using your key code please contact our technical support team. Please note our technical support team are only able to assist with technical queries around online resource access. All other queries should be directed to the contact details at the bottom of this page.
HOW DO I ACCESS MY EBOOK?
If you have purchased an eBook you can access your redemption code by clicking on the “View your order” button in your order confirmation email. You will then need to log in using the email address with which you placed your order. Once you have your redemption code, you will need to follow the guidelines on our eBook FAQs page.
MY EBOOKS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS, HOW CAN I ACCESS THEM?
Human Kinetics eBooks are now supplied by VitalSource Bookshelf. Please get in touch and we can switch your eBook access to this new platform. You will need to provide proof of your original order such as a receipt, pre-paid invoice or order confirmation email from Human Kinetics.
HOW CAN I REQUEST DESK COPY OR ANCILLARY ACCESS?
Desk copies are available to academic staff. To request a desk copy or ancillary materials please complete our desk copy request form. Please note ancillary materials are only provided to academic staff able to provide evidence of adoption.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURNS POLICY?
If you are not completely satisfied with your print book purchase, please contact us to arrange a return for a refund within 30 days of the date of receipt of your shipment. Human Kinetics issues refunds for purchase price based on original payment method (excluding shipping/handling). Please contact us to confirm the return before sending the book(s) to:

Unfortunately we cannot provide a returns label.
eBooks can be returned for a full refund within 7 days of purchase provided less than 20% of the content has been accessed and access codes for accompanying resources have not been used. Returns cannot be accepted where the customer has previously returned the same eBook from a prior purchase. Contact us to arrange a return.
No returns are accepted for opened shrink-wrapped software,CD/DVD-ROM, and DVD products.
